Heindrich Botes is the director in the company with many years of experience in rubber lining on site and in the workshop - this includes big contracts for major companies. We have completed contracts out side of South Africa. In Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania and Ghana. 40° Shore has a good working relationship with customers assisting in all break-downs on a 24/7 basis doing work on the mines and in our workshop meeting our clients requirements. Lining of all tanks, chutes, launders and pipes. We do training in and out of South Africa, teaching the rubber liners the basic skill of lining, cutting and template-making.

Our staff are fully trained in all aspects of work, whether it is on site, shop or from pot of South Africa.

Where required, we ensure that the above mentioned is first cleaned of old rubber, solutions, adhesives etc. It is then sent for sandblasting or grinding to ensure that the surface to be rubber lined is absolutely free of old rubber and residue. Appropriate prima/adhesive solutions are then carefully and professionally applied.

We offer our services in manufacturing, rubber lining & installation of steel pipes, general rubber lining, hot vulcanized rubber lining, solidur & armidillo liners, H.D.P.E piping, general steel construction, palisade fencing, professional lining of launders, chutes, pipes, screens, fittings, cyclones, agitators, pumps, chemical and carrier tanks and tankers, pulley lagging, shop & site lining available, impact beds, skirting rubber, and in all major mining regions.

Adhesives:

We utilise a full range of adhesives for use in bonding rubber to rubber, rubber to metal and rubber to fabric.

The range includes CFC - Chlorinated hydrocarbon-free, primers, adhesives, cleaners and sealing compound.

Various rubber is used when rubber lining different equipment.

 



Rubber Sheeting

  • Full range of locally manufactured and imported cured and uncured sheeting, made to the highest technical specifications.
  • Used primarily to line tanks, launders, pipes, pumps, valves & sump in mining; and for seals, gaskets and moulding in general industry.
  • Our range of sheet has been specifically developed to handle conditions of severe abrasion and corrosion in chemically aggressive environments.
  • General purpose sheeting in hardness from 40o Shore to 90o Shore.
  • Thickness 1.5mm - 12mm uncured, 1.5mm - 25mm cured.
  • Standard sheet sizes 1.2m or 1.5mm x 10m.
  • Sheets available in natural rubber, neoprene, nitrile, butyl, hypalon, EPDM, viton and food grade rubber.
  • Steam cure and chemical cure rubber.
  • SABS1198-1978 specification approved uncured compounds for rubber lining.
  • A data sheet is obtained on each make and type of rubber to ensure that it meets the requirements of our clients and their equipment.
  • Rubber is thoroughly checked before it is used to ensure that the maximum effect is achieved.
  • Rubber is carefully cut down to size and requirements before being applied.
  • In case where steam cured rubber is required, we ensure it is placed in an autoclave at the specified heat and left to steam for the required amount of time to ensure that the rubber is hardened and therefore not easily damaged.
  • The rubber is then grinded and trimmed to ensure that there are no overlapping or loose edges.
  • Where required, we carry out painting and the specs are meet to full requirements. The paint is only applied once the rubber lining has been done.

We are often called out on breakdowns where again, professional teams are utilized to ensure the work is done satisfactorily. All our work is guaranteed and QCP reports, site reports, spark test certificates, autoclave process documents, hardness test certificates, shot blasting certificates, and independent 3rd party inspector report and data packs are issued where and when required.

Shut Down

In the case of a shut-down, a manager would come to site prior to the shut-down happening in order to pre-plan the work to be carried out with all the risk assessments in place. This will enable us to discuss and supply the rubber, solutions, adhesions and labour required to do the job.

We are situated at: 6 Landbou Road. Southridge. Kimberley


It consists of one 10-ton overhead crane, a large bay for rubber lining, a large shot blast and two autoclaves (3 650 dia. x 10 m long) & (2 dia x 13m long), apparently the largest autoclave in the southern hemisphere.
